“Julia” Book Launch
Last week we attended the launch of “JULIA” by Kevin Roach this is his latest book which documents the life of Julia Lennon, mother of John.
It’s just one in a series of books about members of the Beatles written and researched by Kevin a local author ……….. at the launch we were entertained by Phoenix of Avalon and one of the original Quarrymen “Colin Hanton” was also there to support of Kevin.
Julia Baird, John Lennons sister did attend a previous launch and said she “loves JULIA by Kevin Roach” http://www.beatlesliverpoolandmore.com/julia-lennon-new-book.html
This small and intimate meeting took place in St. Peters Church Hall Woolton. This is the place where John Lennon was introduced to Paul McCartney and as they say, the rest is history.
From what we were told, the hall hasn’t changed much since that first meeting. The church is also famous for a couple of other things. First and formost it has the gravestone of Elenor Rigby, from which the song is derived.
It also contains the the grave of perhaps the greatest football manager of all time, Bob Paisley.
A few photos … we were part of the refreshments and as always our ice cream was very popular and a great talking point. We would like to wish Kevin every success with his latest book.
