Recently Marie and I had the great pleasure in shooting the wedding of Nicola and John. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Belle Epoque Restaurant in Knutsford, Cheshire. We can highly recommend the Belle Epoque both as a wedding venue and restaurant, and as you can see it’s a beautiful building with a hidden gem, a lovely roof terrace garden. The staff were super helpful on the day and the food was delicious. Nicola and John chose the Belle Epoque because they love all things French. John proposed to Nicola in Paris so the Belle Epoque was the ideal place to have their wedding.
Our day started meeting Nicola, her bridesmaids and parents at her home. Full of excitement, laughter and popping of corks, 2 hours passed very quickly. Nicola looked absolutely stunning in her champagne coloured fish tail dress. Very 1940’s Hollywood glamour.
The groom and his bestman waiting patiently in the garden area.
A very proud Mum
The ceremony which took place on the upper floor of the restaurant was full of joy and laughter. The room can only be described as sumptuous. With reds, blacks and leathers and a beautifully lit ceiling which sets off the whole room, it’s a very romantic setting.
Following the ceremony guests congratulated our newly married couple outside on the roof garden. No confetti was thrown, as Nicola and John opted to have guests form a guard of honour, who waved ribbon wands. One of the guests danced his way through ahead of Nicola & John, a trial run I think.
It was such a lovely day everyone was happy to have their pre dinner drinks on the terrace.
There was lots of love in the air, when Nicola & John were asked to have a kiss during the group shot, lots of guests decided to join in.
Following the meal and speeches we got a few shots outside the beautifully lit building, which you would never guess is actually right on the busy high street in the centre of Knutsford. Nicola looked amazing and attracted the attention of lots of passers by.
We had a really lovely day with Nicola & John and all of their families and friends and not forgetting the staff who made us feel very welcome. We really hope we get to go back there again one day.
