Delbury Hall Shropshire

Marie and I travelled down to Shropshire on Friday, staying overnight in the small village of Stoksey.  We wanted to be fully refreshed for the wedding of Claire and Paul.  It was going to be a full day, so a hearty breakfast at the Castle View guest house set us both up nicely.  Claire and Paul had travelled from Kent where they live and their family and friends had travelled from Wales, Lancashire, Spain, Australia and Saudi to be with them on their special day.  I can see why so many people travelled a long way as they are a wonderful couple to be around and very much in love.

The ceremony took place in St Peter’s, a beautiful church which is set in the grounds of Delbury Hall in the village of Diddlebury.  Delbury is a lovely Georgian mansion built in 1752 Set in a tranquil setting, between Much Wenlock and Ludlow with a backdrop of the Clee Hills and the Wenlock Edge. St Peter’s is within walking distance of the Hall.

When we first arrived we spent some time with the Paul, David his best man and brother, and sons Conor and Jordan.  The boys we getting ready in the converted Milking Barn, a beautiful and comfortable place to spend the night which is also in the grounds of Delbury Hall.

It was time to meet the girls who were  also having a great time getting ready in luxury in the converted stables. There was lots of  champagne and laughter and pretty soon it was time to leave.   Here’s Claire with her Mum Denise and bridesmaids Sarah, Katy, Laura, Kiley and Karina. She was so excited and couldn’t wait to see Paul.

Following the service it was back to Delbury Hall for the reception and photoshoot.  Here is a sneek peak at some beautiful shots of Claire & Paul

The weather was ok most of the time, although a couple of showers sent everyone running for cover.  The great British weather didn’t put the girls off having fun.

After everyone had finished their meal, the sun was just setting and we got a few more lovely shots before we set off home.

Delbury is a magnificent venue for a wedding and as you can see you can get some fantastic images.  The staff looked after all of our needs and were very attentive to the needs of Claire and Paul.  Nothing was too much trouble.  We had a great time there with Claire, Paul and their family and friends and we really  hope we get to go back to Delbury again one day.
